Keeping your carpet clean and in great condition is a lot easier than you think. As a carpet owner, you are tasked with fighting and cleaning up after many kinds of cleaning problems and messes, such as stains and food and drink spills. One problem though that many carpet owners dread is having water damage on their carpets. Water damage is quite a tough situation as it leaves the carpet damaged and can even lead to its destruction if you don’t clean it up properly.

Doing the proper job in restoring the carpet after water damage is essential if you want to save your carpet from total ruin. If you want to learn how to properly do this challenging task, below are some simple yet important do’s and dont’s that you should remember when cleaning up the water damage on your carpet.

Do’s

•	Do remember to disinfect your carpet when restoring it from water damage. This is because the water which caused the damage may have been unsanitary and thus bring all sorts of bacteria and germs on your carpet. Remember to disinfect the carpet first using an anti-bacterial cleaning solution or you can make one yourself by mixing a teaspoon of ammonia with a cup of warm water.
•	Do fix the source of the water right away. Don’t attempt to clean up the mess it has created unless you have fixed the leaky pipes or overflowing toilet which caused the damage in the first place. Solving this problem first will ensure that the water damage won’t happen again and so that your restoration efforts won’t go be in vain.

Don’ts

•	Don’t wait for a long time before you try to clean up the water damage on your carpet. The longer you wait, the worse the carpet becomes and thus putting it even more at risk of being beyond restoriation. Don’t waste time and act quickly in trying to clean up the mess to have the best chance at saving your carpet from total ruin.
•	Don’t attempt to clean and restore your carpet after water damage if you are not sure you are capable of the task. This job is tough and has serious implications on the state and condition of your carpet so if you are not confident that you can do a good job then you should call professional carpet cleaners to help you with the task.

Soy sauce is probably one of the more popular condiments that make our food taste even better. It adds flavor and improves the taste of dimsum and Chinese food as well as being an ingredient in a number of other dishes. Sadly, soy sauce stains can be one major cause of headaches for rug owners as spilling it by accident on your rug can be very problematic. The spilled soy sauce can result to a dark and very visible stain that will render any light colored rug unattractive.

Cleaning up soy sauce stains can be quite a pain and getting it done without any problems can be tough especially if you are not that experienced in cleaning these kinds of spills and stains. If you fall into this category then you are in luck. Below are some simple and easy-to-follow tips for you to effectively remove that soy sauce stain on your rug.

1.	Clean up the spill right away and remove any loose food particles that may have been spilled along with the soy sauce. Then, use some paper towels and blot the area where the spill is. This will help in absorbing the excess soy sauce to avoid having it spread to other areas of the rug. Once you have removed as much of it as you can, you’ll be able to proceed to the next step.
2.	Next, dilute the remaining stain on your rug with a few drops of water. After a minute or so, get some paper towels again and resume blotting the area. You’ll be able to make the stain lighter and make it easier to remove the stain using the subsequent steps.
3.	Make a cleaning solution using the liquid dishwashing soap that you use at home. Just make sure that it does not contain any bleach as this can cause damage to rug fibers. Mix a teaspoon of the liquid dishwashing soap with a liter of water and apply some of this onto the stain.
4.	Cover the stain with a clean white cloth and then apply some heavy objects such as books on top of it. Leave it for a few hours or overnight. After you remove the heavy objects and the cloth you’ll see that the stain will be gone.
5.	Finish the task by rinsing the rug with water and drying it up with clean rags to remove any excess cleaning solution residue.

Soy sauce stains can really ruin the look of your rug and defeat its purpose of beautifying your home. Don’t let this problem stress you out. Simply follow the guide above and you’ll be able to eliminate the soy sauce stain easily.

A candle can do a whole lot to improve the mood and atmosphere of any room. Whether you are planning a candle lit dinner or you’re using aromatherapy, a candle can instantly change the entire room for the better. One drawback of using candles though is the candle wax. Not only is it hot and can sting if you spill it on your hand, it can also become a cause for concern if you accidentally spill it on your carpet fibers. The spilled candle wax can cause you a big headache as it can clump together the carpet fibers and ruin its look and feel.

Nobody wants to have this problem on their shoulders but unfortunately this is a pretty common predicament for homeowners. If ever you are faced with this situation, you don’t need to panic and resort to cutting the carpet fibers. All you need to do is follow the tips below to get your carpet clean and back to the way it was before.

1.	It’s important for you to not clean up the candle wax spill while it is still fresh. The fresh wax can be tricky to clean if you attempt to remove it because it spreads and causes the problem to become worse. It would be wise to wait for the candle wax to harden first before starting the removal procedure.
2.	Once it has hardened, use a knife to chip away slowly at the candle wax on the carpet. This will help remove big chunks of the dried candle wax on the carpet. Just be careful not to accidentally cut off some of the carpet fibers in the process though. Then, use a shop vac to remove all the loose candle particles on your carpet. You will not get all of the candle wax through this process but at least you will be decreasing the amount of it you would need to remove from your carpet.
3.	To remove the remaining candle wax on the carpet, you’ll need to use a brown paper bag which plays a very important role in the process. Get a brown paper bag and spread it over the candle wax. Then, get a steam iron and set it to “warm”. Then, run it over the paper bag repeatedly. The candle wax will melt and will transfer onto the brown paper bag, thus leaving your carpet clean and spotless once again.
4.	Rinse the carpet with clean water to ensure all of the loose candle particles are remove. Finish the process by drying it up with some clean rags and you’re done.

Candle wax can be quite a challenge to clean up on your carpet. Cleaning this type of stain may be difficult but by following the tips above you’ll be able to effectively and easily get rid of the problem in no time.

This is question is probably one of the most asked by countless carpet owners all over the country. Getting the carpet clean and doing everything to keep it in great condition is always a challenge. Luckily, there are a lot of different methods on how to get this done. This is why the debate of which carpet cleaning method is the best one to use is always a hot topic among carpet owners. So what is the correct answer? To help us find out, let’s find out more about two of the most popular and commonly used cleaning methods being used today.

Hot Water Extraction or Steam Cleaning – This is a method wherein the carpet owner uses high temperature water released at high pressure to blow away the dust and dirt on your carpet thus making it clean and spotless. Steam cleaning is always a popular method as it gives a very thorough and deep cleaning as the hot water can reach even the deepest portions of the carpet. It is also effective in eliminating germs and bacteria as the high temperature will surely kill these harmful organisms. One drawback that this has is that you will need a steam cleaner to perform this method. Also, you’ll have to spend some time before you can complete this cleaning method as you’ll have to wait for your carpet to dry up before you can use it regularly again.

Dry Carpet Cleaning – Dry carpet cleaning is another popular method being used by carpet owners to get their carpets clean. It utilizes a dry chemical compound which is worked into the carpet fibers using a motorized rotary brush. This biodegradable cleaning compound will absorb all of the dirt, dust, and stains on your carpet and will help it restore its clean and fresh state. All you need to do is to vacuum it using your heavy duty vacuum cleaner and you’re done. One big benefit of dry carpet cleaning is that you only use little to no moisture to get your carpet clean. This will result to you being able to use your carpet immediately after you’re done vacuuming the cleaning compound. The disadvantage it has is that you would need to purchase the chemical compound in order to perform the method.

These two are the most popular and most used cleaning method for taking care of your carpet. Each one has its own pros and cons which would make picking between the two methods a very difficult task. In my opinion, each one has its offers its own unique elements and there can be really no clear answer as to which one is best. Using either of the two will undoubtedly give you a big boost in cleaning your carpet properly and effectively.

A lot of people love to drink softdrinks, whether it be together with their favorite food or just drinking a refreshing bottle or can on a hot afternoon. It is really delicious and can really quench your thirst instantly. Sadly, softdrinks can also be a source of frustration as accidentally spilling it on your carpet can be a really bad experience. If this happens to you, you would need to clean up the mess and remove any resulting stain that your carpet may have.

Softdrink spills are anything but pleasant. Unfortunately, it is something that we would really need to clean up which is why knowing the right procedure in doing so can be a big help. If you don’t know how to go about cleaning up softdrink spills on your carpet, below is a useful guide that you can follow.

Acting quickly is essential in order to have an easier time removing this type of stain. Once you have spilled the softdrink on the carpet, act fast and proceed to clean up the mess right away while the spill has not yet penetrated deep into the carpet fibers.

Get some paper towels and quickly blot the spill so as to remove any excess softdrinks on the carpet. If you do not have any paper towels with you, you may also use a piece of clean white cloth to help remove the excess liquid from the carpet.

After clearing the carpet of any excess liquid, it’s now time to deal with the resulting stain. For this you’ll need to make an ammonia cleaning solution which will be instrumental in getting the stain off of your carpet. Mix one tablespoon of ammonia with a half a cup of warm water and apply this mixture onto the stained area. Let it soak there for a couple of minutes and then use a clean white cloth to blot the stain.

Repeat the previous step several times until you totally get rid of the stain. Commonly, you won’t be able to remove the stain immediately. Don’t get discouraged by this and simply continue applying the cleaning solution and blotting the stain and very soon your carpet will be stain-free.

Rinse the carpet with some clean water and then dry it up by using clean rags. This will help avoid any residue from getting left behind and building up on your carpet.

Softdrinks spills on your carpet can be a pain but hopefully with the tips above you’ll be able to get it out of your carpet with ease. Good luck!

Water color is nice to use when drawing painting whatever your creative imagination can think of. Kids and adults alike use this medium and can create a variety of works from comprising of many bright and beautiful colors. A side effect that this has though is that sometimes as you or your children get caught up painting you may accidentally spill some water color on your carpet which is never a good thing. The water color spill can cause a nasty stain on your favorite carpet which can really alter its physical appearance.

Nobody wants to have a stained carpet in their home which is why cleaning up this kind of mess is a must. Water color stains though are no joke so you’ll need the proper approach to get the job done right. Here’s what you’ll need to do to correctly remove water color stains from your carpet.

The first thing that you’ll need to do is try to remove as much of the spilled water color as quickly as you can. You can use a sponge or a clean white cloth to dab the spill with and absorb as much of the liquid before it stains other parts of the carpet.

After clearing up the carpet of any excess liquid, it is now time to move on and address the resulting stain. To remove this from your carpet you’ll need a cleaning agent which will break down the stain. Grab some household ammonia and mix a tablespoon of it with a half a cup of warm water.

Apply the cleaning agent onto the stain and use a clean white cloth to blot the area. The stain will slowly transfer from the carpet surface onto the cloth as you continue to blot it. Just be patient and blot the stain repeatedly until you get all of the water color stain off of the carpet. This may take several attempts but soon enough your carpet will once again be stain-free.

Finish everything by rinsing the area with tap water to remove any excess residue which may have been left behind. Dry it up using some clean rags and your carpet will now be as good as new.

Water color can be a great companion to unleash your creative side, just make sure to be careful not to spill it onto your carpet. If it does happen though don’t worry. Just use the guide above and surely your carpet will be rid of the water color stains in no time.

I’m sure that as a rug owner you constantly worry about ways and means to get your rug at home clean. This task can be tough as there are always cleaning problems that can arise at any time and cause your rug to become dirty, filthy, and simply embarrassing to have inside your home. Cleaning it yourself though can be surprisingly difficult and many rug owners always complain that they are not getting the results that they wanted.

Well, cleaning the rug may be tough but it certainly can be done personally by you. All it takes is effort, the right attitude, and a few helpful tips and tricks to make this activity a lot easier. Here are three essential rug cleaning tips that you should know in order to effectively clean your rug.

Clean any Spills, Dirt, and Stains on your Rug Quickly. – Immediately taking action and cleaning up any mess that is caused on your rug is probably the best thing that you can do to avoid problematic stains from setting in and become a nightmare to remove. The faster you act the better your chances are of preventing stubborn stains on your rug. As soon as any food or drink gets spilled on your rug, quickly remove the excess food or liquid and get started in removing the stain so that you can easily get rid of it without any problems.

Test New Cleaning Products Before Using – Have you ever been shopping in the supermarket and suddenly found a new rug cleaning product that you would like to try on your rug? Well, you can certainly do it but one important advice to follow is to test it out first on an unnoticeable part of the rug before using it. New products may not always be safe to use on your rugs. Seeing if it will or will not damage the rug fibers can save you from damaging your own rug with untested cleaning solutions.

Regular Cleaning Goes a Long Way – Everybody knows that prevention is better than cure. When it comes to maintaining the condition and cleanliness of your rugs the same also applies. While you may not be able to fully prevent the dust and dirt from making your rug filthy, doing regularly scheduled cleaning can be a big help to keeping these cleaning problems in check and preventing it from building up and sullying your rug. Vacuuming three times a week or having it professionally cleaned every now and then can really improve its quality and condition so that it will last for a long time.

These tips can be a very big help in cleaning your rug, especially if you became a rug owner fairly recently. With the important tips above you will have a clean and fresh rug for you and your family to enjoy.

Carpet shampooing and vacuuming are probably the most common methods used by homeowners when trying to clean their carpet. What many do not know is that there are other methods which can prove to be a big help when trying to fight off dust, dirt, germs, and many more cleaning problems that can sully your carpet and make it look unsightly. Dry cleaning is one such method and has seen a rise in popularity due to the fact that it uses a small amount of moisture or none at all to get the carpet clean. One type of dry cleaning the carpet is called encapsulation. I know it may sound like a very scientific term but it actually is a lot simpler than it seems.

Encapsulation is done by spraying an encapsulating chemical on the carpet and then brushed to get it into the carpet fibers. This is usually done using a motorized rotary brush for the best result. The chemical works by crystallizing the soil and dirt particles and releases it from your carpet fibers. It can thereafter be easily removed by vacuuming making your carpet clean and fresh.

There are a lot of notable benefits when you use this type of dry cleaning method to clean your carpet. For one, it gives your carpet a thorough cleaning as the encapsulating chemical can reach even the deepest areas of the carpet and encapsulates or crystallizes the dirt and dust particles found there. Another advantage, much like any other dry cleaning method, is that encapsulation does not make use of much moisture. This is a big advantage as you no longer have to wait for a long time to let the carpet dry up after you clean it. After applying the encapsulating chemical and vacuuming the crystallized dust particles, you’re already done and can already resume using the carpet. There are also some evidence which has shown that using this type of carpet cleaning method helps improve the look and appearance of the carpet. Being able to isolate the dust and dirt particles from the carpet fibers can greatly help in minimizing and avoiding the usual wear and tear from other cleaning methods.

Encapsulation is a new and modern method to get your carpet clean without having to deal with moisture and drying the carpet. It has become increasingly popular and something that you should seriously consider trying. Call your local carpet cleaning company now and try out this effective and advantageous carpet cleaning technique and keep your carpet clean and in top condition.

Eating fried chicken would not be complete unless you have some gravy to make everything come together. Gravy is delicious and can really make your meal even tastier but it can also come with some drawbacks. Sometimes as we eat our crispy fried chicken we can accidentally spill some of the gravy on the carpet and create a mess that’s not exactly easy to clean up. Grave spills can be a very frustrating experience since it can really leave behind a big brown stain as well as an unwanted smell on your carpet.

Dealing with gravy spills can be very tough but with the proper steps you can get it cleaned up without any hassles. Read the guide I have prepared below so that you won’t have to worry about cleaning up gravy spills on your carpet properly anymore.

Apply some water onto the gravy spill so as to soak it. This will help in diluting the gravy from the carpet fibers making it easier to remove. After soaking it in water, get a clean white cloth and blot the area to remove the excess gravy. You may be able to clean up the entire spill and the resulting stain using this technique but if you are unsuccessful just proceed to the next step below. More often than not you will be left behind with the gravy stain which can be removed using the succeeding steps.

Create a cleaning solution using a teaspoon of non-bleach detergent and a cup of warm water. For the best result, make sure that the water is only warm and not hot. Apply this onto the stained area and let it soak for a few minutes. This will again help in breaking down the stain for you to be able to get it out of the carpet.

Get a clean white cloth and start blotting the soiled area. The gravy stain will become lighter as it transfers onto the cloth’s surface. Continue doing this until all of the stain is gone. This may take a while depending on the size of the stain but by repeating this step you can successfully get rid of the stain eventually.

With the stain gone, finish the job by rinsing the area with clean water and drying it up using the wet/dry vac. This step will prevent any cleaning solution residue from being left behind on your carpet.

With these simple steps you can effectively get rid of that ugly gravy stain on your carpet. The next time you have a gravy spill, remember the guide above to make your task of cleaning up the mess easier and trouble-free.
