A lot of people love to drink softdrinks, whether it be together with their favorite food or just drinking a refreshing bottle or can on a hot afternoon. It is really delicious and can really quench your thirst instantly. Sadly, softdrinks can also be a source of frustration as accidentally spilling it on your carpet can be a really bad experience. - Acting quickly is essential in order to have an easier time removing this type of stain. Once you have spilled the softdrink on the carpet, act fast and proceed to clean up the mess right away while the spill has not yet penetrated deep into the carpet fibers.
- Get some paper towels and quickly blot the spill so as to remove any excess softdrinks on the carpet. If you do not have any paper towels with you, you may also use a piece of clean white cloth to help remove the excess liquid from the carpet.
- After clearing the carpet of any excess liquid, it’s now time to deal with the resulting stain. For this you’ll need to make an ammonia cleaning solution which will be instrumental in getting the stain off of your carpet. Mix one tablespoon of ammonia with a half a cup of warm water and apply this mixture onto the stained area. Let it soak there for a couple of minutes and then use a clean white cloth to blot the stain.
- Repeat the previous step several times until you totally get rid of the stain. Commonly, you won’t be able to remove the stain immediately. Don’t get discouraged by this and simply continue applying the cleaning solution and blotting the stain and very soon your carpet will be stain-free.
- Rinse the carpet with some clean water and then dry it up by using clean rags. This will help avoid any residue from getting left behind and building up on your carpet.
